As the Head of Veterinary Services for the AVMA Trust, Dr. Joshua E. Gehrke collaborates with
the CEO, Lead Trust Veterinarian, and the Trust Team to support veterinary professionals. He
holds a BS and DVM from Michigan State University, completed
a small animal internship in Los
Angeles, and a residency in Neurology & Neurosurgery at The Schwarzman Animal Medical
Center of New York. Dr. Gehrke has experience with BluePearl, MedVet, and as an award-
winning Assistant Professor
and Neurology Service head at Michigan State University. As Chief
Veterinary Officer for Veterinary United, he provided coaching, leadership, clinical practice, and
medical mentorship to veterinary teams, elevating the care of medicine provided
to the
community. Passionate about impacting the profession, he continues to steward the veterinary
community in his current role.
