Renewing your policy online is more convenient than ever! Follow the directions below to renew your policy, and make sure to review your current coverage:

You’ve probably already considered adding veterinary license defense coverage to protect your license; you may also increase existing coverage. Practice owners can also secure professional extension (animal bailee) for practice locations—this covers damage to animals in your care, custody or control, unrelated to treatment. Have questions about your coverage? Submit Payment for One or More Certificates

This feature is available for both practice managers and veterinarians. Once you have logged in to your account, select the Manage My Account link at the top of the screen, and then select Make a Payment. Use the "Find a Certificate to Pay" feature to identify the certificates you will submit a payment for—the following information is required for each veterinarian you will add to your payment:

  • AVMA member number
  • Professional liability certificate number (beginning with "VETPRO")

You will see the combined total due for all of the certificates you have selected. Enter the required information for your desired payment method and complete the transaction.

Link Accounts: Manage Coverage and Submit Payment for One or More Veterinarians

The link accounts feature allows practice managers to manage the professional liability certificate and submit payments for one or more veterinarians at the practice. Follow the instructions in the Practice Manager’s Guide: Link Accounts on the AVMA PLIT Website.

Please Note:

  • Both users must be registered on the AVMA PLIT website to link accounts
  • The veterinarian must approve the practice manager’s request to link accounts
  • A linked practice manager will have access to change the veterinarian’s limits, update the mailing address and contact information on the policy, and submit payments
  • Linked accounts will remain connected until either user selects to revoke access
